La Villa Ski Resort

One of the biggest ski villages in the Alta Badia region, La Villa guarantees great snow thanks to its high altitude.

As part of the Dolomites, the resort links to the Sella Ronda circuit and every December the men’s Alpine Ski World Cup is held there. There’s a mixture of terrain available in La Villa and the cable car gives access to a number of other resorts. There are also some brilliant mountain huts serving delicious food and a welcome drink during your day on the slopes.

The unspoilt village resort of La Villa is located in a central position in the Alta Badia ski area. Neighbour to San Cassiano, the two resorts share the same skiing area and also provides easy access to the Sella Ronda circuit. With access to over 130km of slopes and an elevation of 2,778m, the resort is perfect for all ski and snowboard enthusiasts.

La Villa and its surrounding ski areas offer something for all levels of skiers with its vast and varied terrain. At the base of La Villa there are two nursery slopes perfect for beginners to learn and practise, before transitioning up the mountain for more of a challenge. The Piz La Ila gondola from the village whisks you right to the heart of the Alta Badia region where San Cassiano, Corvara and the Sella Ronda Circuit can be accessed. There is mainly a mix of red and blue slopes in this area, perfect for intermediates.

Boarders will be pleased that the Alta Badia Snow Park is easily accessed in La Villa, with different ability sections available and a range of jumps and rails. Additionally, the Sella Ronda Circuit offers great off-piste for freeriders, as well as a brilliant selection of wide pisted slopes for carvers.

Sustainable Choice

La Villa, the largest resort in Alta Badia, is a forward-thinking resort with several sustainable initiatives in place. There is also a hydroelectric power generator in the valley that has been generating 500,000 kW of energy per year, and a communal heating system in the village that is powered by wood chips to carry water at a temperature of 85 degrees to over 300 users.

La Villa Ski & Snowboard School also offer a Snow Kindergarten offering daycare as well as opportunities for group ski lessons for children aged 6 months to 11 years. The kindergarten is run by qualified childcare staff and a supervised lunch is also included.

La Villa is a goldmine for delicious restaurants serving traditional Italian food. La Bercia is a good place for families, serving pizza and other traditional Ladin cuisine at good prices. They also have a ‘Wintergarten’ conservatory that hosts beautiful views over the mountains.

La Villa is one of the quieter resorts in the Alta Badia region with limited après and nightlife. The village has a few bars to have a quiet drink in but there is not much that stays open late. However, on the mountain, Club Moritzino hosts quite a lively aprés scene with delicious food including bar snacks and a resident DJ starting in the early afternoon, by 4pm they have everyone dancing on the tables.

Non-skiers can enjoy the beautiful scenery with a number of walking trails on offer. Other winter activities such as snowshoeing and iceskating are also available. There is also a large public swimming pool to use at a fee.
