Hotel Riffelalp Resort
In 2000, the renovation was completed of the old Riffelalp Hotel, situated on a plateau high above Zermatt so enjoying a “ski in/ski out” location second to none. The original hotel opened in 1884 but was destroyed by fire in 1961. In 1988 the hotel reopened with just 40 beds to close again 10 years later for the current renovations to take place. The transformation is magnificent and offers a unique experience of five-star luxury in a superb setting. It is now a member of Leading Hotels of the World.
The brilliant ski in ski out Riffelalp hotel offers a variety of on-site entertainment facilities including Restaurants, a bowling alley and a spa.
Situated on a plateau at 2222m, the hotel is accessible on skis from the Gornergrat area or by train which runs from 0710 to 2150 so you can partake of some of the apres-ski or enjoy an early dinner in Zermatt before returning. As one might expect, the views of the Matterhorn are wonderful.
The Riffelalp Resort is a short walk from the Riffelalp train station where regular trains throughout the day take you straight to the Zermatt centre where you can enjoy various aprés-ski activities and experience the variety of bars and restaurants that Zermatt has to offer.

All 65 rooms in the Riffelalp Resort are wonderfully equipped with excellent amenities including TV and DVD player as well as private balconies with brilliant views of the Matterhorn. The hotel is also offers free WiFi to all guests. All rooms are also fitted with Jacuzzi tubs for the your relaxation desires.
